Escape to Seville
Seville is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to and the weather was perfect during our short trip.
We arrived in the city during Semana Santa, Holy Week, which is a celebration of marching processions of floats and wooden sculptures of the events from the Passion of Christ on Good Friday.
As we walked down the streets, we admired the Spanish street style and women dressed in La Mantilla for the festival of culture. All eyes on them as they were donned in a lace mantle, silk veil, and black dress.
The entryway to the Alcázar of Seville, is a breathtaking royal palace and has been well preserved. The architecture and gardens are beautiful, and the Spanish mosaic tiles make the palace a true medieval oasis.
Plaza de España, located in Parque Maria Luisa, is Seville's most stunning town square.
Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza is the oldest bullring in the world and hosts events during the bullfighting season from April - October.
Once covered in gold tiles, the Golden Tower (Torre del Oro) is a watchtower located next to the Guadalquivir River and was designed to protect the docks.
